I get it, you’ve already “grown up,” but maybe it just doesn’t feel like you thought it would?
Me either! That’s why we are going to crush this right NOW and live the life of our dreams! It is not too late.
The year 2020 has been absolutely the strangest year of my life. No one can fully prepare someone for what it is like living through a pandemic, but this is WILD! Since 2014, I have been living in the corporate world trying to climb that corporate ladder and become an executive. The higher the rung, the more stress I felt, the more responsibility I had and the more time I was forced to give. But…money. The money makes it all worth it…RIGHT? I thought it was the correct decision for my family at the time, but in retrospect, I was paying WAY more than I was receiving.
I gave my company the best hours of my day 5 days a week.
I gave them the majority of the hours that my kids were awake.
I gave them my full concentration, patience, commitment and worst of all,
I gave away the opportunity to see all of my children’s “firsts.”
I didn’t see my daughter’s first steps, most of her first words, the first time she tried new foods and learned to use a spoon.
I wasn’t there for my son when he had his first 2 seizures from fevers that came on while he was at day care.
I wasn’t there to hold him when he was scared.
Why?
This is embarrassing, but it is because I was scared to miss work and not be eligible for a potential promotion. In a society that encourages this type of behavior, you just keep going and going and going.
It took a scary virus to snap me out of it.
In February of 2020, my company decided to move my department back to headquarters so I was let go. All of those sacrifices I made putting my family second didn’t really matter. I was in the way of whatever they were planning so that was that.
My community came together and a dream job popped up with a start date of March 21st. Because of everything happening around us, the courts were behind and my background check wouldn’t clear. Without that, I couldn’t start my new job. A couple days before my scheduled start date , I got a call from the recruiter and I was so excited because I thought she was calling to let me know that it finally went through! Instead, I remember my heart skipping a beat when she said, “We are retracting your job offer because of everything going on.”
What?
I think I cussed. I think an “Oh sh*t” squeaked out of me somehow when it finally sank in. I hung up and anxiety took over me. No income, no insurance and some deadly virus taking over. I allowed myself to feel that loss and called close friends to come distract us. It was a perfect night over a couple bottles of wine and when I woke up the next day, I was completely at peace. I knew God was in control and I needed to give Him the reigns. For some reason, I never worried another minute after that night.
The next few days were spent calling student loan companies and pending bills to see what we could pause and to find temporary relief until I figured out what I was going to do. We made a budget and started cutting things out.
Fortunately, I was almost out of shampoo.
I know that sounds weird, but I’m going somewhere with that!
I had a pending order about to ship and I needed to push it back.
As I was texting with the sweet lady who helped me with my orders, I got a text.
Her: With all the craziness going on right now, why don’t you become a market partner and sell with me?
My response:
Why the heck NOT?
I was already obsessed with the products, I could at least sell enough to get my stuff for free. After the birth of my son, I had postpartum hair loss and my hair was falling out in CLUMPS. I tried to wash my hair as infrequently as possible because every shower, I’d lose handfuls of hair. This shampoo is famous for its ability to help hair grow back, for its anti-aging qualities and the best part – its all natural ingredients. No toxins or craziness that was going to give me cancer later on in life.
I made the decision right then and there, I’m doing this.
Best decision EVER.
I’ve never worked for a multilevel marketing company before and I knew absolutely NOTHING about network marketing, except the usual eye roll…bug the crap outta your friends and family and send awkward messages to your high school nemesis that starts with a “Hey giiiiirrrrrlllll. It’s been SO long…”
But what I realized was, this isn’t the case – you don’t have to do ANY of that. It’s 2020 and there are ways to get your message across without losing friends.
So here I was…unemployed, uninsured and happier than I’ve ever been. I was living that dream day over and over again.
Waking up with my happy kids, drinking coffee while they had their orange juice.
Not missing a single moment.
Witnessing every first.
Navigating this new life like a BOSS.
That is when I decided, I am going to give this 100% effort and it will work. My mentors made this work. They were driving free cars, going on paid vacations and getting recognized for making their first million dollars with the company. If they can do, I can do it.
My friends stepped up.
They switched to my shampoo.
They came to my live Facebook parties.
They encouraged me.
Sixty days in I had a couple grand in my account.
I decided on the path I wanted to take to not only find my own success, but to bring like-minded, hard-working people on this journey with me. I want it to be easy for people to find me and to connect with my story because I believe there are millions of people with something similar going on. Whether you are looking for time freedom, purpose, extra income or just living the life of your dreams, we want the SAME thing.
This blog is going to focus on building a relationship with you. Finding you. You are out there somewhere in the universe and the only way for us to find each other is online. This blog is for you. For us.
Here are my goals for the next 6-12 months:
- Become an expert in online marketing.
- Recruit and coach 1-3 new team members every week to grow our network.
- Expand our team internationally.
- Build an online training program for our entire team so that everyone knows exactly what to do when they start their business.
Building a business from scratch takes work, patience and time. While I continue to build mine, I will need supplemental income to replace what I was making in the corporate world. So also in this blog you will hear about my surrogacy journey – the whole process from the paperwork phase to that beautiful moment where I am able to give someone the greatest gift of all – their baby. I’ve always wanted to embark on this journey and now is absolutely the best time to do it!
Come with me on this crazy ride! Watch me as I homeschool my kids, grow someone’s baby, build an empire and make all my dreams come true! Even better, join me. Let’s encourage each other and build a community that becomes a 2nd family. Let’s build a business that provides everything that we need plus MORE. Let’s get that car, go on those paid vacations and change the lives of thousands of people. It is ok to dream, but I want more. Let’s make it REALITY.
